DJ Pilo Selguera hails from Cuba and brings his diverse love of world music to our event with sounds from around the globe to play a chilled and laid-back set to sooth our nerves as we set up for the event and anticipate the start!

Lyndon Davies

Welcome to Country - Performance

Lyndon Davies is a Traditional Custodian of the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people from the Sunshine Coast. His artwork reflects his strong connection to the land and portrays stories of landscapes, flora, and fauna. In his Welcome to Country, he shares the secrets of the region through local language, emphasizing the interconnectedness of everything.

Po Mei Kwong, a dynamic Joy Coach and Laughter Yoga Facilitator, uses her multicultural background to promote self-acceptance and encourage playfulness and joy. Her message is about experiencing the joy of everyday living and living authentically.

Carlos Vaquero

Guest Speaker - Chasing Happiness

Carlos has 20+ years of experience in Strategic Marketing and Media. Owned several small businesses in Europe and has worked as a consultant for some of the biggest consultancy and advertising agencies in Spain. 7 years ago, Carlos moved to the Sunshine Coast following the Australian dream, but what conquered his heart was our amazing COMMUNITY.

Through his talk 'Chasing Happiness', Carlos will share part of his journey and expereinces, that we are sure will be very familiar for many of us.

Innessa's music


Innessa is a Russian singer/songwriter now living in Australia. Her music combines quirky alternative/pop styles with beautiful Slavic Folk melodies. With dreamy emotional lyrics sung to a mixture of eclectic styles, Innessa's music leaves her audience spellbound.

Innessa's musical journey began at age 8 with a passion for writing poetry about her surroundings in central Russia. Her talent was first recognized when her poems were published in a newspaper at the age of 12. Innessa's lifelong passion for music started at age 9 when she joined a local choir, and she started performing her original compositions at age 16. She has released three studio albums, performed at major festivals like the Canberra Multicultural Folk Festival and the Woodford Folk Festival, and received accolades for her music, including being selected as a finalist in the Queensland Music Awards.

Welcome to Sunshine Coast Chinese School. We provide a variety of Chinese courses from young kids to adults. In 2019,Sunshine Coast Chinese is proudly affiliated with Queensland MiaoMiao Chinese School and became the Sunshine Coast Campus. Established in 1997, Queensland MiaoMiao Chinese School is a non- Profit organization in Queensland. The school is also a member of Ethnic Schools Association of Queensland (CLS: community language school) and is officially recorded by the Ministry of Education in Australia. With over 1500 students, 6 campuses spread out through QLD, Miao Miao Chinese school offers the programs open to all the communities by organising the teaching of Chinese courses from Preschool to Grade Twelve, Chinese culture and traditional education, folk songs and dances, traditional painting and abacus. It meets the needs of every student who loves Chinese and leads them into a colourful world of Chinese culture.
